Kickboxing

Our kickboxing program at Weapons At Hand is designed to cater to individuals of all skill levels, with three distinct levels and multiple belts to be earned within each level.

Level 1: Beginner

All trial/new incoming students will begin in our Level 1 classes regardless of experience. In the Level 1 kickboxing class, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of kickboxing. Through a combination of cardio exercises and heavy bag workouts, you will learn the basic stance, strikes, and footwork, while also incorporating combinations. This level typically lasts around 45 minutes per class, and depending on your engagement and progress, you can expect to be in this level for approximately 3 to 6 months.

Level 2: Intermediate

As you progress to Level 2, you will build upon the foundation laid in Level 1 and further refine and improve your kickboxing skills. In these classes, you will learn how to properly hold and hit focus mitts and Thai pads with a partner, enhancing your technique and precision. Additionally, Level 2 introduces contact drills and light sparring, allowing you to apply your skills in a controlled environment. These classes typically last for one hour, and you can expect to spend around 3 to 6 months in this level.

Level 3: Expert

At the Expert level, you will continue to enhance the techniques and overall knowledge of kickboxing that you have acquired in the previous levels. In addition, as an Expert, you will have the opportunity to pass down your knowledge and mentor students in Levels 1 and 2. At this advanced level, you may also choose to participate in hard sparring or explore the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), especially if you have already participated in our Jiu-Jitsu classes.
